The very nature of our company is committed to the use of natural building materials and to be as environmentally friendly as possible, thereby all our operational procedures are continually assessed in order that they comply with our codes of practice and that of local authority.
We aim to keep the use of raw materials to a bare minimum, using harvested rain water to slake our lime putty. The small amount of carbonated water run off from the slaking process is captured and continuously re-used.
All packaging waste is kept to a minimum, with little or no impact on the environment. Our warehouse is powered by solar power for all our electrical requirements.
We continuously seek to improve environmental performance where possible and each partner is fully aware of his/her obligations in this respect. All members of staff will also be trained not only in the use of the product but also the environmental implications of their actions.
Any contractors or suppliers that we use are vetted by us and would be expected to comply with our environmental policy.
When necessary, we always use specialist craftsmen that are locally based and are both sympathetic and conversant with the use of lime mortars in the restoration of historic buildings.
Our ethos is to enable the restoration of older buildings using natural, traditional materials and we ensure that all customers are assisted when making environmentally sensitive choices. As a matter of principle, we do not encourage the use of materials that are not in keeping with the historic built environment.
An annual Health & Safety Risk Assessment & Fire Risk Assessment is carried out on our behalf by TAWSA Ltd, Unit 47a, Upcott Avenue, Pottington Business Park, Barnstaple.
