Interior Lime Plaster

The process for plastering interior walls is very similar to that of rendering the outside of a property.

All the old plaster is removed and any repairs done before giving the first scat coat of a 3:1 mix sand and lime putty.  Then we add a haired dub coat, allow to dry before adding the top coat, which has to be floated to a smooth finish. Next comes a final fourth coat of a 3:2 mix of sand and lime putty to give a fine finish, ready for decorating.

The art in obtaining the final smooth appearance of the plaster is down to the quality of the workmanship.
